Renewable Energy Organizations in Texas We Love | Green Energy Enthusiast

today is Sep 24, 2022

The state of Texas is home to numerous renewable energy organizations doing good work on both a local and national level. Here are a few of our favorites.

Private and Nonprofit Renewable Energy Organizations in Texas

American Solar Energy Society (ASES)

Founded in 1954, ASES is a nonprofit that serves as the U.S. division of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES).

TXSES, located in Austin, is a state chapter of ASES that helps groups and individuals make their transition to 100% renewable energy and sustainable living. They provide events, resources, and information to communities in an effort to speed up transitions to clean energy.

Texas Solar Power Association

The Texas Solar Power Association, based in Alamo and San Antonio, is an industry trade association promoting solar energy production throughout the state of Texas.

Members consist of manufacturers, power plant developers, and rooftop integrators, representing a full chain of solar photovoltaic (PV) production. PV projects throughout Texas in both the retail and wholesale markets benefit from member investments.

CleanTX is an Austin-based nonprofit association and division of the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Alliance (TREIA). CleanTX is dedicated to advancing renewable energy and its integration with the grid and other technologies.

As a professional association, they seek thought leaders and informative partners to help in their goal of seeing 50% of Texas using only renewable energy by 2030.

Invenergy is a privately held energy producer that has been applying their diverse energy innovation experience to communities since 2012. While Invenergy’s headquarters are in Illinois, they have projects throughout rural Texas focusing on solar and wind power generation, such as the Santa Rita and Wake Wind Farms.

Their partnerships focus on industrial and commercial sectors and so far have produced over 3,500 MW of power for over 20 corporations.

SunChase Power

SunChase Power is a renewable energy company founded in 2015 that focuses on solar projects on a utility scale. They seek locations that could successfully host large solar projects, while working with landowners, local community members, and largely established energy purchasers to bring clean energy to the retail market.

SunChase has produced over 7,000 MW of energy for varying sectors while excelling in interconnection processes through their power agreements.

Resource Environmental Solutions (RES)

RES is the largest independent renewable energy company in the world and has been leading the industry for almost 40 years

Their projects spanning the globe have sourced more than 21 GW of energy. And while they’re active in 10 countries focusing on the generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of wind and solar energy, they have facilities spanning the state of Texas.

Public and Corporate Renewable Energy Organizations in Texas

University of Texas

The University of Texas utilizes both of their campuses in Austin and San Antonio to engage in solar energy research.

Their unit on Austin’s campus hosts the Center for Next Generation Photovoltaics, which analyzes the solar energy supply chain to find ways to reduce costs. And their San Antonio campus is home to the Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute, which examines the integration of PV and solar forecasting on a large scale.

E.ON Climate Renewables North America (E.ON)

E.ON Climate Renewables North America (E.ON) is an industry leader in renewable energy with headquarters in Chicago, Austin, and San Francisco. Their Austin office focuses on wind power.

Their parent company, E.ON SE, is one of the largest energy companies in the world and is rigorously dedicated to providing reliable energy alternatives to fossil fuels. E.ON has invested around $12.5 million in projects that expand renewable energy usage on a global scale.

Pioneer Green Energy

Pioneer Green has been active in the U.S. since 2009, providing utility-scale renewable energy to domestic markets.

They facilitate large-scale solar and wind projects. Their wind farms span the state of Texas in San Roman, Flat Top, Logan’s Gap, and more, while their solar projects can be found in central California as well as on the East Coast in Maryland.

So far, they’ve provided over 1,250 MW of clean energy to communities.

NextEra Energy Resources

NextEra delivers clean energy resources across most of North America to meet growing energy needs. The company serves roughly 10 million people.

One of their offices is in Houston, with the surrounding area hosting some of their largest universal solar projects. Alongside their development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects for electricity, NextEra also markets to wholesale retail companies in their community stewardship best practices.

Tri Global Energy

Tri Global is a Dallas-based renewable energy producer founded in 2009 focusing on wind and solar projects. They’re behind nearly a fourth of all wind projects in Texas that are currently under construction and are the nation’s leader in wind energy generation.

Tri Global focuses on forming partnerships with local communities to develop programs that help people utilize the sun and wind for their personal energy sourcing.

Apex Clean Energy

Apex has the largest wind portfolio in the nation due to their data-driven approach, but they also have solar energy expertise, including solar storage solutions — an emerging area in the industry. Some of their projects are hybrid, merging solar, wind, and sometimes other renewable energy sources.

Apex can help you develop, construct, finance, and manage your green energy projects through their ancillary services.
