Covid-19 – Solar in a time of Social Distancing | Green Energy Enthusiast

today is Sep 24, 2022

As we navigate the uncertainty of the covid-19 pandemic, I wanted to share EFS Energy’s commitment to the health and safety of not only our employees but the community in which we live and work.

We are continuing to complete work in progress but on a limited basis. Some of our operations and services will be temporarily put on hold in the best interests of the public. So, please be patient with us as we continue to monitor the situation and adapt as necessary. Despite the levity of the photo I chose to illustrate our new policies, I can assure you that I, my family, my friends, and employees are all taking this situation very seriously. I also want to remind everyone that it is still ok to smile and laugh once in a while.

In our attempts to keep people safe, we have adopted the following policies. This list is by no means comprehensive and we are also following the guidance of the CDC. If you have any suggestions for additional measures, please comment below!

Sanitary and Social Distancing Policy:

1. Those who are able to do their work and keep up with their job responsibilities from home are currently expected to do so. This includes sales activities, design work, some project management, and OM activities. They may briefly pop into the office to pick up any materials they need to work from home. Though we are staggering arrivals to limit interaction.

2. We will be contacting customers ahead of installs/OM work to confirm they are ok with us working at their home or facility.

3. Anyone working outside their home should practice as much social distancing and sanitary measures as possible.

A. Do not commute to work with other employees. 1 person per vehicle.

B. Keep 6’+ between you and others whenever possible.

C. Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer as often as possible.

D. Avoid entering customer houses/facilities unless unavoidable.

E. Wear face mask and gloves if you do have to enter a customer’s home/facility. Be sure to use hand sanitizer prior to entering and after exiting the customer’s home.

F. Keep hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and face masks in install vans and other company vehicles.

G. Go straight to and from jobsites with limited stops in between. Pay for gas at the pump to avoid entering gas stations and always disinfect hands before and after handling gas pumps.

4. Self check temperature and symptoms before leaving the house. Follow CDC and WHO recommendations for self-quarantine before attempting to return to work in case of symptoms.

5. All payments, signatures, or other paperwork will be handled electronically to the fullest extent possible or sent via USPS .

In the meantime, it is advisable to continue looking into getting solar for your home or business. It can take several months to get a project done from start to finish, so start now to make sure you get installed by the end of the year!

Thank you for your support, and stay safe out there!
